Hey everyone,

I am looking to get some good headphones/headset. I came across these 2. I have heard alot of mixed reviews but from what i gather the sound quality for the most part is better on the shures. My only concern is 2 things.

First is the reliability. After reading alot of reviews i have heard that the wires on the shures are a nightmare. People constantly report that after 3 months they are having issues.

The other thing is price. I can get the shures for 180 more than the hf2's but is it worth it? I do like bass i currently have the v-modas and think they are ok. Bass is overwhelming and i could do with a little less bass. I dont want them to sound anemic though on the bass dept.

Please let me know what you guys think.

anyone here have the shures? or know about there durability with the cord?

Imo Shure 530s are not worth the price. The cord, I doubt will last from past experience. I don't have the 530s per se but the previous Shures I had have weak cables -- but I found the Vmoda's were worse.

SQ wise the 530s aren't that good in my book. But they have less bass so they should be good for you.

So in your opinion what does have good sound quality?

Mochan

As a bass head, I prefer good, solid bass, so I like phones like the Monster Turbines. It probably will not do for you, though, since te Turbines have more bass than the Vibes.
