I ahve just moved my music folder folder from my C: drive to an external hard drive. Itunes then couldn't find all my music so I ended up having to create a new music library and and now slowly copying all the folder to my Itunes folder. When I next synced my Ipod it updated with the files in the music library but there were no podcasts. I am continuing to download podcasts which I can then see in in Itunes folder under podcasts but each time I sync the podcasts are not copied. My Itunes podcast folder is held as follow

C:\Documents and Settings\Tim's setup\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\podcasts

Any ideas what I am doing wrong ?

Podcasts that were downloaded pre-reload will not show up as podcasts by default. They are probably showing up in the Music Section.

I don't have iTunes with me so I can't see if there is an option to set them to Media Type of Podcast or not. You may be able to do this by using the Get Info on the Podcast episodes, use the Options Tab. I doubt that it works.

You need to resubscribe to the podcasts with the new library anyway. You could re-download the podcasts you are missing (assuming they are still on-line) by holding Shift while clicking on the triangle next to the Podcast Name and open it. All the old episodes available should be there. Download what you need.

If your podcast episodes are no longer available, you can use smart playlists to combine the old podcasts that look like songs with the new episodes. Delete the old episodes manually as you finish them.

There are tools, some listed here in the forums that could make the old episodes look like podcasts again.

Thanks The proble seems to be resolved now.

But I have anotehr issue, all of the podcasts seem to be mixed in teh music. If I click on artists then ### well as the music artists I see all the people who have done the pocasts. My top level menu shows Music, Photo's, Videos etc but not podcasts. I click on Music and the next menu shows Playlists, Artists, albums, compilations, podcasts etc. If I select Podcasts they are all there normally. If I select albums then the title of the podcast appears, for example Binge thinking History or crossing continents.

Is this normal?

It is normal to see podcasts mixed in.
