Is there an application to quickly enable/disable WIFI ? Going to settings and doing it is just too much steps. I recall that used to have such application, but I don't remember the name

This will probably require you to jailbreak your iPod. SBSettings should be able to do this. You just need to swipe on top of your menu for more options and then tap the wireless icon to enable/disable it. More information on jailbreaking can be found in this board.
