To answer your question, no, it will not void the warranty. You can always restore the firmware again if something goes wrong.

Hi guys,
I want to know whether we void the waranty of the ipod touch if we upgrade it from version 2.2.1 to version 3.0 (eg. free+got it off from the internet)? Hope anyone can explain it. Thanks.
