How to coil my cord?
I bought a set of Sony MDR-EX51LP's, I really liked these earphones but one of the speakers went bad. For safety reasons at work I am only allowed to wear one at a time, so I'm thinking about cutting the bad one off and using a stereo to mono jack. I would really like to know if it's possible to force the cord into a coil so I can clip it to my collar.
Thanks in advance for any help, |

Shouldn't be an issue. I ran across this link: http://www.lifehacker.com/software/l...led-152499.php for wrapping the cords, has worked well for me.

Jokieman,
I appreciate reply but that isn't really what I was looking for, (I was trying not to leave a long post.) Wrapping the cord isn't the issue, I just wrap it around the joint where my otterbox attaches to my armband. What I want to do is coil the wire so that when it comes out of my shirt it stretches/retracts as my head moves. Or so as my wife puts it, "To look like a secret agent." |

An example can be found here -->http://www.amazon.com/SmarterWrap-Ma...&s=electronics Some other companies like V-moda also sell cord wraps directly off their web site... Actually I'm surprised iLounge doesn't sell one in their store. (just checked)

Sorry again, I'm still trying to get the hang of this. I'm trying to find a way to bend my earphone cord into a permanent coil like this: http://www.merchantmanager.com/tacti...LEK_Sets_M.jpg
Thanks again for trying. |

Like a phone cord then. I think you might be out of luck in that case. hehe. Those are made pre-shaped that way from the factory using different materials to hold the shape. You would have to buy a cord like that and then figure out how to rewire your ear phones.

I was trying to avoid recommending something like that. I've had to use them in the past for work I've done and they definitely aren't made for music. :P

Well, bearing in mind he's supposed to be working and can only use one earpiece he's not going to be bothered too much about the quality of the music he's hearing - it's going to be in mono for a start....

Trust me, Even though he'll be listening in Mono, there's still a difference. :P
