Here is an excellent article on Podcasting written by our own Alicia aka ginalee - forums Moderator:
Understanding the Podcasting Revolution Topics covered under this article are: 1-What is a Podcast? 2-How Podcasting Started 3-What You Need 4-What is Podcasting Like Today? 5-The Future 6-Best Podcasts 7-Best Sites for Podcasting Information (includes links to the sites) 8-Want to Discuss Podcasting - links back to the forums. Bookmarking Podcasts & How to Avoid the iPod Freeze ups If you want to use Podcast on your iPod and have it as a bookmarkable file, you can use this simplified guide. In iTunes, once the Podcast has been downloaded to your computer: a-go to Edit>Preferences>Importing and set b-Import Using to AAC Encoder c-Settings to Custom & use the drop down window to set the d-Stereo Bit Rate anywhere between 32kbps to 64kbps for the best quality sound. e-set the Sample Rate: to Auto f-set the Channels to Auto g-set the Stereo Mode to Joint Stereo Then click 'ok' to close out. Next, 1-Highlight the podcast>right click>select 'Convert selection to' and wait until it finishes. 2-When done right click>select 'Show song file'>when it opens 3-on the toolbar click on Tools>Folder Options>View>Hidden Files & folders>& check show hidden files & folders>then click 'ok' to close. 4-the file extension will show. right click>select 'rename' 5-use the arrow keys not to erase the file & change the ending to .m4a to .m4b>then click outside the space to set. 6-double click on the file to start the podcast playing in itunes and delete the other copy with the "!" next to it. You now have a bookmarkable file that will play on the iPod and not freeze the 4G iPod. Freezing is not a problem on the 3G iPods. iTunes 4.9 edit>preferences has under AAC a Podcast import option, but if selected, does not convert a standard mp3 file to bookmarkable. It does convert to m4a, which if renamed m4b, I suppose will bookmark.

Question is, where, other than audible, are the "podcasts ... that come with bookmarks?" Anyone have a clue?
