Most of Jack Johnson's music is good.
Lots of Oasis is relaxing... Dido, Coldplay also good. Some Mick Jagger songs mainly from the Alfie album such as Blind leading the Blind, Old Habits Die Hard & not on that album Hard woman. Lenny Kravitz Fly Away accoustic live version. U2 - Sometimes you can't make it on your own. Some Silverchair stuff. I have done up a playlist with variations of these types of songs and have a pillow speaker that is fantastic as it does not require batteries .. so I set my ipod to go off after 30 - 60 mins ... and put it in my top drawer, speaker under the pillow ---- and I don't bother anyone else with my music as you can only hear it through the pillow. |

Philip Glass: "Koyaanisqatsi" and "Uakti: Aguas da Amazonia." Modern composer--a lot of repetition--very hypnotic and relaxing, but an acquired taste for sure.
Peter Gabriel: "Passion: Music for the Last Temptation of Christ." Hypnotic music with Middle-Eastern themes. The soundtrack to "Baraka." A collection of chants, music, percussion from different cultures arond the world--an amazing record. Great to sleep to. |

America is a great band for that, songs like A Horse with no name and Sandman. As mentioned before Jack Johnson's songs are soothing. The Acoustic CD that came with Seal's greatest hits is also quite nice. Roachford also helps me get to sleep.

I'm in OZ and I got it from #### Smith which is your Radio Shack stores in the US (if that is where you are). It was cheap like AU$13.
Here's the link I found http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...ct%5Fid=33-209 Don't expect it to rock the house down. It's not loud and you do need your volume almost up to full but for under the pillow to fall asleep with you don't want it loud anyway (I think) some might ??? I can hear my songs quite loud enough for me to fall asleep with. What I find the best thing is I can put the speaker under my pillow ... put the ipod in my drawer where I cannot kill it in my sleep as the cord is quite long. I wouldn't live without it but others might not think it's that great. |

Oh I forgot that the first name of the store is now a swear word and they bleeped it out.
Remember at school #### & Dora .. now it's Richard & Dora Anyway, short for Richard Smith is the name of the store if you are in OZ. |

I have one of those U-shaped buckwheat-filled things for using on your neck while flying in an airplane - I just put it on my pillow and it has a nice empty spot in the middle for an earbud!
My playlist? Well its about 200 songs, so I'll just list the best ones! - Aroah - Barzin - Damien Rice - Elliott Smith* - Elysian Fields - Ida* - Iron & Wine - Jasmine Star - Jennifer Jackson - Jolie Holland* - Owen* - The Decemberists - Thee More Shallows - The Shins* - Radar Brothers - Yo La Tengo* * best of the best! Most of this was aquired for free (or close to it) from the following sources: - www.emusic.com - www.epitonic.com - www.mysterandmisery.com - www.ipodhipster.com If you want the whole list, send me a PM. |

Enya will put me to sleep in a matter of minutes. I also enjoy falling to sleep to movie soundtracks such as Lord of the Rings.

They actually had an article over here about music therapy for getting to sleep and they said Enya was very good.
Which songs as I know I have one that was a bit of a hit .. from there I know none of them. It is Orinoco Flow which was on a complilation album I bought. If you can point me in the right direct as to song names that would be great. |
