I have limewire and DVD VideoSoft which enable me to download songs to put on iTunes. But the artist is always listed as Unknown Artist and they have no album. Does anyone know how I can arrange my free songs or a site which makes it easier?

Yeah, that isn't going to happen. You essentially want us to tell you how to edit the tags of your stolen material and tell us other websites that offer up songs for illegal download as well. Now, don't get your underoos in a bunch and tell us it is legal in your country. These are the iLounge.com forums after all, they aren't under the domain of iLounge.ru.

It also doesn't matter what you think about the laws set in place. Obtaining copyrighted material by means not allowed by the copyright holder is illegal. Though most artists really don't care these days so long as their music is heard (they get more money from touring), you still end up taking from them.

There are plenty of free songs offered up on the iTunes Store and Amazon mp3 stores, we can discuss those with you but that is it. Don't want to have to manually change your track tags every time you download a song off of Limewire (something so virus ridden that even Paris Hilton wouldn't use it)? Buy the material. I don't care if you aren't made of money, I don't care if you are a struggling college student, and I don't care for whatever other excuse you throw at me. It doesn't stop any facts or any laws from being in place. It may sound harsh but it is the truth. I was there when all of this got started way back in the day with IRC clients when everything looked like a DOS prompt window with amazing download speeds of 3kb/s over my 36k dial-up connection. Then Napster came along, that died, and a slew of other "me too" programs came out. What did I eventually do? Support the bands by paying for their music.
