I'm putting together a new feel good playlist to listen to on the way to work. I'm a pretty upbeat guy, I find I just can't listen to NPR in the morning any more - just too depressing. I started a new playlist last night and realized I was in a rut.
I'm looking for suggestions to add to my library. Music so good that when you hear it, you can't help but smile. To get started, here are a few of my selections: Stand - R.E.M, Mrs. Robinson - Simon & Garfunkel, Kidney in a Cooler - Keller Williams, Cleaning Windows - Van Morrison, If You Want Me to Stay - Sly, Rad Gumbo - Little Feat. I think you get it, I'm old-school, but appreciate good new music as well. Limit your response to the one song that always does it for you. Times like these require powerful medicine! THX! |

"Can You Feel It?" - The Apples in Stereo
edit: I have to add, just about ever song on their "New Magnetic Wonder" album fits. Just saying.

I rate my tunes from 2 to 5 stars. 5 stars are the really great ones. When I need a pick me up, I just play a smart playlist of 5 stars that I haven't heard in a week (or whatever length of time). Lately this has been helping.

Vertigo - U2
This is a favorite of mine for when I need an upbeat song. Holiday - Green Day You can't help but feel like you want to sing along loudly on this one ![]() Snow ((Hey Oh)) - Red Hot Chili Peppers Love this one. |

Enjoy by Janet Jackson. It's just this really happy song that makes you feel upbeat (which is what you might be looking for). Heck, you may be singing the song after a while.

There's always "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina & The Waves, if you're going for the Old School vibe.
In newer music The Noisettes "Don't Upset The Rhythm" or "Ready For The Weekend" by Calvin Harris may be up your street (I find it often helps to get a wide variety of genres in these sort of playlists). |
