How To Import CD tracks to itunes?

Hello Everyone,
Im new to itunes and I just got an ipod for christmas. I was wondering if you all could help me out. I have a lot of mp3 songs burned onto a CD and I was wondering how could I get itunes to import the files in fast way.
So far I load the cds into my computer but itunes does not even read them. I tried searching as much as possible on the net and the search on the forum here but to no avail.
Im not computer savy at all. I apologize for making this thread but I would truly appreciate it if anyone could help an old dog learn a new trick.
Thank you all for your time

Just copy the mp3s to a folder on your PC then drag the folder onto the iTunes window.

WOW thanks alot sir!
Now if I can only figure out out how to delete all the songs that have a ! in front of them in a fast way instead of going one by one.

Is there a way to edit the name of the songs on itunes? All I get is track 1, track 2, and so and so on.
How about a way to change the tracks to mp3 for itunes?

There is not a fast way to get read of the ! tracks, you just have to go through.

To edit track info you select the files, right click, and then edit the info through the editor there.

You can edit "like" files all at once by selecting them all at once.

But there is an easy way to isolate them.

1. Create a standard playlist called "Not Missing".
2. Drag your entire library to that playlist.
3. Create a Smart Playlist called "Missing" with the condition "Playlist - is not - Not Missing".

Since missing files cannot be copied to a playlist, the contents of "Missing" will be all tracks with the dreaded exclamation point.

my350 you can try to "consolidate" your library. This will take all of the music on your computer and throw it into itunes.

As far as the track info , or metadata , you can go through and edit them each by hand or you can download a program to do it for you. The company I work for put out such a program called "Edit". It gets the track info and the cover art. Its a great tool for this kind of thing.Edited to remove advertising. Give it a shot.
