I have actually managed to buy four albums over the last few months. They went like this:

Jonathan Davis - Alone I Play (live album recorded in Paris or something like that)

I picked up Kittie - I've Failed You today but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. It has taken me about 3 months to accumulate all of those albums.

Well, it's not quite three CDs, but I'm sure the Classical geeks will forgive me....

Just got the "Arthur Rubinstein Complete Album Collection" from Amazon -- 142 CDs and 2 DVDs (cheap, too; less than $2 per CD). It's (almost) every published recording by the master, and it's truly wunnerful. The CD labels resemble the look of the original LPs (with printing all the way to the hub hole), packaged as were the originals (each disc or pair of discs in its own printed sleeve). The book is very nice, and the box is sturdy enough to last a long time.

I was aware of the 1999 "Collection", with everything crammed onto 94 CDs, but there was no way I could pay the $1200+ for the set. This new collection, with its emphasis on original album format, is very affordable and the sound (so far; takes a while to listen to all ;-) is superb; my ears don't get the sense that any corners were cut in mastering these CDs.

If you're a Classical fan, and especially if you love piano, this set will keep you happy for many years to come. (The one downside? After I spend a week ripping all these discs, I'll right away need to start looking for new drives...this is pretty much a year's worth of new CDs for me, all at once ;-)

And that was it. I bought it when it was released a year or two ago and was my first CD purchase in so long. Love the artist, wanted to support. You know. But since then, haven't bought one. Been playing old blink albums, chili peppers. Until eminem releases a new CD, that will be the next one.
