'HEAVEN THE AXE' Melbourne, Australia

VRRROOMM! Imagine a hot chick driving a MACK TRUCK...and get a
picture of the musical grunt behind new Australian 5 piece band HEAVEN THE AXE.

Based in Melbourne, the band is a musical interpretation of heavy rock songs penned by Phoebe Pinnock, which are played filtered through the brains of metal-head hard rock riffers, hitters and chuggers.

CHECK EM OUT! \m/ \m/

Speaking of female fronted bands...

If you want something similar to Evanescence with a slightly more metal/progressive edge, you might want to check out my band Phavian. I'm the lead singer. We're kind of different because most of our influences are progressive bands like Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Rush - but because of my vocals we are finding that our music is being compared to bands like Evanescence and Lacuna Coil, so you might like it. You can download our new free EP at our website. If you google "Phavian" we're the first band that comes up - I'd love to post the link here, but ilounge won't let me since I'm new to this forum.

our first album, Kiena, is also on itunes, though our new stuff on the free EP is quite different than our first album.

If you like it, share it with other people who are interested in new female fronted metal/prog/rock music Enjoy!

Being compared to Lacuna Coil isn't really bad but being compared to Evanescence can be a killer especially if you are trying to actually be metal. Evanescence isn't even close to metal so I am not sure why people keep bringing them up. They are hard rock boardering on radio rock. Evanescence is as close to metal as Linkin Park is to thrash death metal. I will give your band a go when I get home from work and download the free EP. I like progressive metal (especially Opeth, Tool, and Dream Theater) so it will be interesting to hear them with female vocals.

Talking Lilith Astaroth

I came across Lilith Astaroth of SORROWSEED recently, and I've been obsessed with her voice ever since. It's kind of like a mix of Dani Filth, Alyssa White Gluz, Angela Gossow, and an evil angel. Sorrowseed can be found on any of the larger music sites (itunes, etc) , but you can also see her artist pages here...
