Question iTUNES - will it be free if we already own an iPOD?

Might be a silly question, but as we all know Apple is working on iTUNES software for windows. I posted a thread about setting all volume levels in the iPOD DB to the same level, to which someone replied MC9 does this for you. The problem is I want to buy MC9 to overcome this problem but I also want iTUNES when it is out. I don't want to pay twice i.e. once for MC9 and again for iTUNES.

Anyone know whether iTUNES will be free?

Thanks in advance

My bet would be that it will be free as Apple wants windows users to start using it to buy music from.

But that's just my guess..no one knows.

I guess some people in Apple marketing team should know. Any Apple insider is here?

I asked about this when I ordered my pod from Apple in July:

Yes it will be free.

I dunno how they will get it to us, though.

I was in the same situation last month -- wondering whether to purchase MC9. I decided to tough it out with MMJB until iTunes shows up (and does anyone have any new projection as to when this might happen other than "by the end of the year"?)

Since the mac version is free I don't see why the windows version wouldn't be. Besides, the point of iTunes is to sell iPods. Apple is still trying to conduct itself as a hardware company or at least trying to maintain that facade.

I really don't give a monkey's butt whether iTunes is free or not at this point. I don't see the point of using it for iTunes Music Store. Why would I. I can find any CD that I want at my local used CD store, and if I buy ten I get one free, now that is pretty good. And the copy is mine, with no DRM! I've got MC9 and that works find for me. I think iTunes for Windows will be a big piece of (shut your mouth).
