Problem with MP3Gain.
I used MP3Gain on several of my most problematic songs and I was happy to learn that it worked, that is, while playing the songs back through iTunes directly on my PC. However, the song volume consistency did NOT translate over to my iPod and iPhone either after I resynced them. Any ideas? What went wrong? I do not have soundcheck turned on my ipods nor it is checked in iTunes. The volume slider bars for all my songs were reset to the middle point before I played with MP3Gain. Any help is appreciated. Oh, another problem I've encountered. I have one song that, no matter what I do, mp3GAIN will NOT change it's volume, simply won't. Why? |

You would have to delete the files on the Ipod then re-add them from your Itunes library on your computer.
From reading other posts, MP3GAIN does not re-encode the files it levels so it does not sync the leveled files from your Itunes folder. I happen to be leveling my entire Ipod library by adding the hidden music folder on my Ipod to MP3GAIN. I don't know how you would pick a particular file out of the encrypted mess on the Ipod though so I wouldn't recommend that unless you want to level your entire Ipod library Hope this helps |

echo everything that truckerllew says...
The easiest 'fix' for you would be to do a restore on your ipod. This would erase everything on your ipod and re copy it from itunes, thus copying the new settings. You didn't state what kind of ipod you have, but if it is a larger one you may want to do it overnight. my 80gb one w/ about 40 gb of music usually takes a few hours, can't say exactly how long, as i ususally do it overnight too |
