Media Monkey on vista 64bit w/ipod touch

I am running vista 64bit and have the newest iTunes running that supports vista 64 bit...version 8.1.1.10

i connect by ipod touch and it recognizes the device fine...

i open up MM and it does not recognize the device at all...

i found this statement on a knowledgebase of MM:

iTunes Version 8.1.1, introduced April 2009, makes several changes regarding VoiceOver and syncing with iPhone or iPod touch, and users have reported that after installing 8.1.1 their devices are no longer recognized by MediaMonkey.
To resolve this problem:
1) Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device support, and Apple software update from the control panel.
2) Install an older version of iTunes. 8.1.0.52 is the last version before the functionality was broken with MM. You can find it at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes_32/5448/

the problem is the older version does not support vista 64 bit... it for 32 bit system... NOW WHAT..?

i followed the other unchecking steps in this guide in itunes but still no go...

can someone please provide assistance... MM is recognizing my nano fine but just not my touch device... thanks

I had the same problem and eventually decided to go with another program altogether - media widget after it was able to handle all of my different ipods and iphone without issue.
