Hey All,
I've written a small utility in Java that lets you copy media files from any itunes playlist you choose to a folder of your choice. It's called iPlaylist Copier. It's free, open source, and available for both Windows and OS X. I think the utility will be helpful for other iTunes users like me: users who have an iPod as their "large" mp3 player, and also have another flash-based mp3 player that isn't an iPod. Additionally, as I mentioned, the software is cross-platform, open source, and written in Java, so there's some handy code in the code base for other iTunes 3rd party software developers in there. There's an iTunes XML Library Parser, POJOs representing major iTunes objects (Library, Playlist, Media File), and an iTunes library auto-detect algorithm that works on both Windows and OS X. I hope you find it useful! EDIT: Forgot the links ![]() http://www.worldsworstsoftware.com is where you can get it. EDIT: I stand corrected. You can export your playlist files to a folder from itunes, just drag and drop

Can't you, in OSX at least, just drag the contents of a playlist to any folder you want?

![]() Yeah, apparently you can drag and drop in both windows and os x itunes I dont know why I didnt think of that, I searched all over for apps that would do this for me since there wasnt an obvious "export" option that exported the media itself in the menus in version 6. Oh well, hopefully others will be able to search and find this post before re-inventing the wheel like i did. Last edited by mrjason; 10-06-2006 at 08:42 PM. |
