Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. is there any software available that will let me search my collection's id3 tags?
itunes f*cked up my collection by organising the tracks by artist and not leaving them by compilation as it was originally the id3 tag still says what album it came off, for ex: "cool compilation 1". id like to find all the tracks with "cool compilation 1" in the id3 and cut/paste them back into the original folder. does anyone know software that can do this? thx S |

Search for "cool compilation 1", select all of he results, and then select "part of a compilation" in the Get Info panel. This will put them all back into My Music\Compilations\cool compilation 1.

Another option is to try the demo of Abander TagControl. One of the features it has is to create custom file tree schemes. You could use that to sort by album name.
