Surpirse Ipod in a Couple Week

Hey...I recently found out that my girlfriend is planning on buying me a ipod mini as a surprise for my college graduation. She is not as tech savy as I am and I am not sure if she would be buying the 4gb mini or the 6gb mini, but graduation is June 21st and I am afraid she would be buying an ipod right before apple introduces a new version. Does anybody think that apple will be introducing a new ipod in the next 8-10 wks or so...soon enough to warrant that I have her hold off purchase on my graduation present? Or do u guys think that even if apple did update the ipod it would not make signifcant changes to the mini?

They won't make a new iPod mini within like 2 months of putting out the "2nd Generation" of the iPod Mini.

Yes agree with cheezhead999. They just introduced the 2nd generation mini. There won't be another one for a while ... possibly at least a year I reckon.

Oh and go the 6 gig. Never have too much room.

i dont think a new mini will be out for a while. as said by others, it was just released...the 2G i mean. I think maybe early next year. Maybe February. Because first of all, the 2G came out in March so it will have been around a year. Second, Hitachi is shipping 8-10GB micro HDDs which are used in the current iPod Minis in the second half of 2005. So, if you think about it, by the time Apple gets a hold of 'em (this is if they decide to use them but anyway) put 'em into the Mini, and make enough for sales, it would be about February or March of 2006. Just a guess though...I'm no expert

i disagree... probally by christmas they would have them.. apple wants to keep the intrest in the product so it would be better to have them the earliest

I don't think an iPod mini will come out that soon, but maybe the new iPod video, or phone will come out soon.
