How do you treat your iPod?

From what I've seen around my town, there are basically two types of iPod users. One type obsesses over scratches and fingerprints (like me; I hate it when people borrow my iPod and put fingerprints all over the screen) and spends every free moment polishing their iPod. This category generally buys cases for protection. I would fall into that first category. The other type doesn't care about scratches and picks up their 'pod by the screen. These people buy cases for the added color and style, if they even bother buying a case in the first place.

Especially around my age, there seem to be many more careless iPod users. This applies with other digital devices too. I'm not the only one who freaks out about small blemishes, right??

How do YOU treat your iPod?

I treat my iPod well enough to not break it or abuse it. It gets normal wear and tear, AS IT SHOULD. Because it's a music player. It's portable. It's not like it's my life or anything...

I don't have a case, and I'm not too bothered about scratches, it's a music player not a priceless work of art (althought some would disagree)

Not that I like throw it round and don't care, I treat it fine, I just don't go mad over it

I've got a hard case I use (iSee), and I try to be careful with it. I'm not overprotective with it, though. I take it everywhere, and wouldn't be to mad if it got scratched or something.

I am kind of in the middle: I clean off smudges daily, but I don't really care that much.

I treat my iPod the same as $300 cash sitting in my hands or pocket.

I treat it like it is: something that is somewhat fragile and expensive, that scratches way too easily. I don't obsess about it...I'll carry it in my pants pocket, but not with keys. Usually I use a case, but that's just so I can put stuff in my pants pocket.

So basically there's a spectrum of users. Some will obsess, some will be careless. I'll bet the careless ones didn't pay for theirs (i.e. their parents bought it).
