Unhappy my iPod was run over by a car

just happened an hour ago....I noticed I dropped it in the street and when I picked it up it had a huge dent in it...some car must have run over it...500 bucks gone to waste...

there's no words to describe how angry I am right now...I've never even dropped the thing once and all of a sudden it gets flattened by a car?

I dunno what to do now, the hard drive inside looks dented and the Apple warranty won't cover it...will they repair it for a price if I send it to them?

You will most likley have to pay ......if you have the money it might be cheaper to buy a new one.

Sounds like a huge bill for repair; money better spent on a new unit. I hear the HP will be offering accidental damage coverage if you are prone to these things. But I don't know when thats supposed to be available.

We all feel your pain. But its time for the healing to begin.

does anyone know if there's a number to contact Apple so I can ask them about this?

I've tried looking on the site and in the warranty booklet but they don't have it

Just a thought: Did you pay for your iPod with your credit card? If you did, the credit card company may cover the damage.

I am almost sure, if it is no longer covered by warranty, that you will pay. Also, I agree with Stevie. Apple will probably charge over the amount of an iPod for that, just look at battery replacement!

Call 1800-MY-APPLE

Follow the touch tone directions and wait for a customer service rep to answer.

If it was bought by credit card it may have an accidental damage warranty on it.. Might want to give them a ring as well..

Good luck,

-Dan

Sorry to hear it, I didn't actually believe what Iw as ready when I seen the thread title, infact I laughed, but now I know it's serious and I feel for you. Hoepfully you'll get another one, but it's a heavy price.

Mine was also run over by a car. Fortunately, i had purchased it from Best Buy and bought the store warranty for like $30. They replaced the unit!!!! And i never buy those warranty deals. But it just seemed prudent with a hard disk that i carry around with me.

Anything small and expensive, like an iPod or laptop, should be purchases with some sort of replacement policy. Its too easy to break them.
