NOOK Simple Touch Having Trouble With Connecting To The Internet

I have a NOOK Simple Touch that is currently having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi right now. It started happening a few minutes ago and this did not happen earlier. I have tried everything that I can think of. Shutting it down, rebooting, and even turning the wi-fi on and off as well.

Not that I've ever seen this device, but here are items to check:

WiFi down
Can you get onto the same WiFi with other devices? If not, check the access point.

Duplicate IP address.
Does it have a fixed IP address in the device? Did the router/access point assign that address to a different device? Then update the device to a new unused IP address at a minimum. Better yet to have it use DHCP and get an address from the access point that is currently unused. It if must have a static IP address, then set the address in the access point and set the same address on the device.

Lack of permissions.
Do you have a password on the WiFi? Did it change recently? Does the device know what it is?

Wireless versions
Did the access point get updated or replaced? The device could be reliant on 802.11b or g and a new access point may not support those versions anymore or need them enabled. If the access point is the same did legacy modes turned off? Did the 2.4GHz or the 5GHz band get turned off and that is what this device needs?



Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....
