Convert Audio to Text

Hi,

Good day to all. I'm just new here and badly need help. Does anybody here knows any software or service where I can transcribe my audio files into text? I have tons of it in different formats and I have no time listening to all of it and transcribe it into words. I'm willing to spend a few bucks for it but better if it will be free.

Thanks,
Allan

That is a service you pay for, and generally if you want it done right you have to pay a human to do it.

I am sure that if you look for audio transcription services you will find a place that will do it.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....

Good day to all as well.

Just want to share this as I have the same problem a week ago and also ask help in some forums. And these all wrapped up to my conclusion.

Using online speech to text services you can convert audio files to text document easily and its more reliable than downloaded software.

Dragon is the most commonly used but can't be taken for professional purposes since you still have to train it.

You may also try a service like speechtotextservice or you can hire in elance, freelance, odesk, etc.

But one thing is for sure. As of the present technology in transcription, I agree with cjmnews, still nothing is free, unless you still do the work.

Hope this adds up FYI.

Thanks for your suggestions. Will definitely try those out as I'm a bit desperate and time pressured. Hope there still some other suggestions to come. Will keep you posted.

I'm wondering if there's a free software can do that?

With the advent of Google searching, why don't you just lookup the lyrics? It is mathematically impossible for any software to accurately pick out the lyrics of a song from the actual music while saving them in a text file.

I think the OP wants to convert spoken word files rather than song lyrics.

Even so, it doesn't make sense to look for some audio-to-text program when most transcriptions are available via Google. This is a very, very, very niche product that really doesn't exist. Sure, there are programs that can convert some audio to text but they aren't foolproof or even 65% accurate. Songs or not, the technology just isn't there at this point and likely never will be (due to the extreme lack of demand).

Thanks a lot guys. I came across with other forums and found a website to do it. I was really satisfied using it. Turnaround speed is fast and the process to upload files is very simple. It's highly accurate and the cheapest around I guess. It was really a time-saver and I'm still using it up to now. Much appreciated all your help guys.
