Backlight Survey

I was just wondering how many of you use your backlight, wether it's on a timer or not. Thanks.

Mine's set to OFF. I do use it in low light situations such as when I'm a passenger in a car at night. Other than that, it's no backlight for me.

I'm not sure why this thread is in the iPod nano section since all iPods have the backlight feature. Anyway, I currently have the backlight timer on my iPod Photo set to 5 seconds.

2 seconds. That's about all it takes to read the contents of the screen.

I have mine set to 5 seconds. Enough time to see the screen.

Changes. It's usually at 5, but if I'm running low on battery, I'll turn it off.

I just noticed I had it set to 10... which is too long for me. Dropped it down to 5.

2 seconds, I don't know why more is needed there isn't anything neat to look at the screen unless you stare at album art or maybe use the notes feature.

Depending on one's browsing habits, five seconds is a tad better than 2 seconds. I'm a little slow, if I'm on 2 seconds durning my iPod looking for things it will go off and on more times than if on 5 seconds. The longer time "on" is offset by less "retriggering" of the backlight if it were on 2 seconds.

Does it take more energy to turn the backlight on more than letting it be on a little longer? I don't know, but that's my logic on having it be a slightly longer on time.
