Memories of the old days....

I got my 10 gig 3g in fall of 2003, right before EVERYONE and their dog had an iPod....anyone remember the amazed expression people would get on their faces when they saw an iPod? Remember having to explain exactly what it was, and why you needed that many songs? And most of all, remember that deep sense of connection and friendship you'd feel when you'd run across a fellow iPodder?? *sigh*

i bought my first ipod(3G 10GB) in november of 2003 and remember people expressions when they saw it. no one knew what it was. my parents thought it was a terrible idea to buy a little white music player for $350. turns out they ended up paying the same a few years later for one of their own. haha. its funny because now, id say about 85% of the people at my school own an ipod wheras when i first had one i was like the only one.

My first ipod was a 3G 15GB and can remember very easily the expressions of people. Everybody was so amazed and thought I was crazy to have so much music. Now people at my school call it an "old school ipod."

I got my 1G 10GB back in May 2002 before anyone I knew had even heard of the iPod. Ironic in a sense that many of the people who didn’t know, now have iPods.

I've been following iPod releases since the beginning and I always thought who the hell would want one of those? At the time I was using a mini-disc player (older one) that held 100 songs per disc roughly at inferior 128kbps quality...so I felt no need for a mp3 player, and quite frankly I thought you were pretty nerdy if you got a mp3 player. I also figured the mp3 format would eventually fade in time so I thought perhaps the mp3 players had a predetermined fate.

This all changed on Christmas 2005, my parents got me a 20GB 4G iPod..I immediately feel in love with it however knowing there was a newer model out I convinced my parents to take it back and get a 60gb video.

Now here I am in 2007, I lost the 60gb or got it stolen, have since got a creative zen 512mb mp3 player, 4gb nano, and a 80gb video obtained this christmas. I absolutely love the iPod now and I couldn't imagine my life without it.

I remenber those days. A little while after i got my 15gig 3g everone had a ipod. I miss the looks of intrest and confusion when people saw your ipod. My parents thought that back then shoveling out that much money on a mp3 player was silly thing to do. Now all these years later even though the ipod has all time high "cool factor" they still think that

I got those "wow" expressions at school when I got my iPod Video on the day it came out. Everyone was asking, "Hey, how did you get video on your iPod?".

It got stolen on vacation a few months later so I have a 1st gen nano now.

i still get this today from people at work, they're vaguely aware of what an iPod is but are blown away when you talk in GB not MB, especially if they were bragging about the new key-fob usb drive mp3 player-on a necklace that only holds two albums they got for christmas! then someone will try to show an interest by asking how many songs it will hold & they start running away when you try explaining it depends on different bit rates & formats!

Same here. I got a 10 gig 1g on the day they came out. Everyone I know was blown away by it. I wish I had kept that iPod. I ended up selling it to a friend who still uses it to this day. Thing's a workhorse.

Haha yeah I do. Back when people used to go and actually ask you about your iPod with a look of awe on their faces.

Now those days are gone since anybody and everybody has an iPod.

I didn't jump on the ipod bandwagon until the 4th generation! I really wish I had a 1st gen just for the cool factor. I just think it would be really neat to have the original.

I remember seeing the commercials for the iPod but didn't have an Apple computer to use one and couldn't afford one since I have recently purchased a PC and was still paying for it but got my first iPod 7/2003. It was a 3G, 30GB and I loved having it. It was a big change from carrying around a MP3 player and up to 30 CD's/MP3's at one time. I was trying to carry around my entire library. It didn't work.

After much research I finally decided on the iPod and have never looked back. It is so easy and convenient to carry around music, movies, videos, concerts, audiobooks, eBooks & games on one device. It has been worth every penny I paid for it.

While I love my iPod, I still really miss my Mini-Disc.

I got more of those "WTF IS THAT???" looks because of my Net-MD than my iPod.

Though, the hair does that for me nowadays.
