"Screen Off" Function

Ever just put your iPod in your pocket and forget about it? Want it to not waste batteries when that happens?

Set your future iPod to "Screen Off" and it'll play but not waste that valuable battery on the screen that's not even being used.

What if the screen just fell to sleep rather than having to select screen off. It would be similar to the backlight turning off.

with the vision:m, engadging the hold switch completely turns the screen off. it could be a nice feature, and it could annoy the hell out of some people. i wonder how much battery it would actually save.

1) Is the virtual wheel confirmed?

2) A falling asleep screen would be nice too...but along with the Backlight off function, it would be similar

I don't believe a touch-screen is confirmed yet. Much less a "virtual wheel".

that would be a great feature, it would save a lot of battery

and it isn't similar to the backlight feature, this would keep it from using so much battery to display a screen that at the time, you may not even be looking at

I meant when I said like the backlight feature, how there is a feature called: "Backlight Off" or whatever and how the backlight can fade after a few seconds.

I was actually referring to Nickster's post, sorry I should have quoted him before
