HDTV - I love it!

Well, when my wife and I bought our first house, we decided it was time to get a big screen TV. We got a 60" Sony Grand WEGA HDTV, and naturally had to get the HDTV packages to fully enjoy it. Heh heh.

I must say it has been amazing. Sports are amazing on it and pretty much all the prime time shows we watch are broadcast in HD so we rarely have to watch Standard Def TV (SDTV).

Now I can't get enough of it. Although, watching my NY Giants go down in FLAMES in crystal clear HD today was not fun. Bah! But I digress...

I only wish there were more NHL hockey games in HD - next year they are supposed to have every game in HD, we'll see. Soon, pretty much everything will be broadcast in HD and all will be well.

The prices in HDTVs are coming down like crazy so if you've been on the fence for a while, keep your eyes peeled.

My Sony Grand WEGA HDTV is scheduled to be delivered on January 18th.

I'm really looking forward to watching sports on HDTV!

We're moving and just bought one for the new house; a 52" from Hitachi.
Hope it's as great as you say it is. =D

He said the Sony HDTV was great---he said nothing about the Hitachi.

Just kidding. I currently own a 60" Hitachi UltraVision. It's been a great television for nine years now. Hitachi makes a quality product.

Nice - I'm sure you guys will enjoy your new acquisitions. Check out this web page for some good info on what HDTV is all about and the differnet formats, resolutions etc...

http://www.projectorcentral.com/hdtv_edtv.htm

Some of the new TVs coming out now are capable of doing 1080p but there's not a log of programming offering 1080p yet.

I have only seen HDTVs in stores, I wish I had one but I don't have that kind of money, so well, I am stuck with SDTV's but Ill live, but if I had the money, I'd surely get a TV, Heck, we still have a TV that is over 20 years old and is in good working condition. I wish every TV would last like that

I was talking about the HD, not the brand. :P

The HD is truly amazing. It really is like you are looking through a window. The first HD broadcast I saw was the US Open Tennis coverage (I think it was on CBS) and man - it was out of this world. The clarity, colour and real-life appearance was amazing.

I could not go back to regular TV after that.

WOO! All this to come for UK residents.

Sky is scheduled to broadcast in HDTV at the end of this month, unfortunately you're going to need a new digi box to view it. If it's as good as you lot say it is then it should be worth the money.

Eventhough I'd seen HDTV many times in the stores, it didn't make its full impact until it was in my house! Last summer I got a 42" Panasonic HDTV and it rocks my world. The difference between NTSC and HDTV is even more mindblowing when you switch to the same channel between the two formats on the same TV. Wow!
