Help with Buying Decision/Am I being scammed?

Hey guys,

Im in the "process" of buying a 2g blue mini from a member on this site. We agreed on a price and I sent out a check last week Thursday or Friday (they were both busy days I dont exactly remember which one). Anyway, he now says he hasnt recieved the check. I contacted my bank today and they said to put a stop payment on the check would be 20 dollars which I'm not sure I want to shell out...but I also dont want a check for more than a hundred dollars floating around...

I dont konw what to do.. I tried to pay with paypal so I knew it would be there immediately... I even offered to pay the 3 percent fee but the other member refused...

What if the other member has the check and is just waiting to cash it and wont really send me my ipod? Or what if its lost and someone else tries to cash it? Shoudl I still pursue a deal with this member?

Any advice?

Cancel that check right away! There's no good reason to leave a check like that floating around...sounds pretty fishy too. Was this a reputible site that you met this member on? Why wouldn't he accept PayPal?

Sounds like this is a scam in progress, better cancel that check, and fast!

either shell out the $20 to stop the check or lose more.

Nothing like good old fatherly admin advice eh, Bob?

Cancel it dude. It's just $20 and you risk losing a hell lot more.

Kristiano,
I endeavour to be helpful every Saturday - cross me during the week and you'll know all about it. Also if it is a genuine problem better to sort out by PM than to besmirch the good reputation of a fellow lounger....
