It is possible... but HIGHLY unlikely that the next iPod will have PDA functionality
There are examples of this... kinda like the Archos PMA 430. Again... this is a drastic leap forward. For Apple to go from a purely music (and now photo) capable device to something with PDA funtionality (and inevitably some video)... i still reckon there's less than a 1% chance of this happening |

Without a link to a rumor site or the place where you heard the rumor, you're gonna have a tough time getting people to believe you. It's also tough to discuss a rumor when the rumor is unfounded -- simply posting "I heard that..." doesn't get much merit.
With that said, I heard that the new iPods coming out will include VHS-compatibility and a laser gun. They'll be much larger -- around the size of a notebook computer, but it'll be so cool, don't you think? http://www.ipodsarethegreatest.net/n...death_ray.html Link, dammit, post a link people!

It ain't because he's a kid -- I've encountered adults that are just as dense on this forum. This place is full of the densest people I've had the pleasure of meeting.
Hell, even without inflections of voice, it's pretty easy to tell that I was being extremely facetious. I think the "laser gun" quip should have given it away, but you never know -- there may be morons out there actually waiting for the next iPod to have an integrated laser gun.

I might just make mention that I was laughing my ### off at your facetiousness. XD I'll be damned if I don't want a death ray on my iPod. I could use it on those fascist Creative users.

I could use one, too... that way I could get rid of all the idiots that come here, post one question about something that's been answered several hundred times then never return for the replies...
Beware of dumb people asking dumb questions with a dumb post count of one!

With the inability to operate a simple device like the iPod (one button and a wheel, people, how hard is it?), I wouldn't doubt it if the new death ray feature weeded out some of the morons here and made this a better, more informative and less aggravating place!

well i think upgraded pda capabilities would be a great addition. the current ipods already have some of those features available, so adding more to it wouldn't hurt. imagine if the ipod is able to capture the pda market as well. wouldn't that be something? i know the ipod is not supposed to be a pda or a computer, but i think apple should position their ipod to more of a portable entertainment/functional unit rather than just an mp3 player, apple has a bright future. now i don't mean for the ipod to evolve into another psp, i would hate to see that happening. but just build the ipod to have more adult/business features. alot of us that works brings it to our office. and if we're able to do more with the ipod than just listen to music, its something good to have.
and as far as that link goes, come on, give him/her a break. we use the internet so much that anytime there is a link to a webpage with contents of our interest, we tend to click it without reading what the link is.
