on the july 7 or before i think they are releasing a coldplay ipod like they did with u2

why coldplay? cant they give a well established band an ipod. that reallly ####es me off. partly because i dont like coldplay i guess.

It's no fact that there's going to be a Coldplay iPod. It's not even a fact that there will be a new iPod on or before July 7th. It might be likely but I still doubt Apple would make a big hoopla out of a new 4G iPod with different colors. Maybe they'll launch the 5G iPod with a special edition one as well. That would be more likely.

I don't really like coldplay, the lead singer sounds like he sucked on hellium when he was young. I bet that the coldplay ipod would be blue because look at the album but what would the other colour be?

That would be terrible. They shouldn't have even released the U2 iPod imo, that was kinda gimmicky.

I'm 90% sure it's to announce the 2GB Shuffle w/screen, since I don't see a reason to update the iPod or iPod Mini just yet.

I don't see any reason to update the Shuffle. It just came out earlier this year as opposed to the 4G that came out a year ago now. The Shuffle shouldn't have an update until the end of this year in time for the holidays. If anything is due for an update it's the iPod. The iPod Mini just got updated too, so there won't be anything until the end of the year for those as well.

True, the 4G iPod was released last summer, but I think that flash-based players update more often than HD players do, like every 6 months. So hopefully the announcement is for a new iPod and Shuffle. Niiiice!!

We're getting out hopes up way to high. Thus far this press conference will behold:
iTunes 4.9 iPod 5G Coldplay Special Edition 2G Shuffle MAYBE half those things will be announced, if we're lucky.
