THE solution to input text/search on the ipod (video included)

OMG why didn't anyone think of this before. The apple newton still has the most advanced handwriting recognition. imo
Here's a video of it in action

and another video
source

Now let's get back to the ipod. and imagine inputting song names into a searchbox just like the newton did.

now where do we fit the stylus... or do we even need one. i dont even use one for my old Palm pda's. i'm sure touchscreen technology has improved since the palmIII

that actually doesnt seem like a bad idea, could be helpful if you actually fill up the damn ipod, or are just too lazy

i think after 900 songs, scrolling can become an annoyance.

when scrolling through songs you should be able to use the buttons to skip alphabeticly through you library, think about it, in 26 clicks you can go through you whole library instead of spining the scrollwheel ahundred times.

Just for the record, you kids know that the faster you spin the wheel, the faster it scrolls, right?

I have about 1200 or so songs on my 15GB Gen3 (I rip big.), and I can scroll through every one (and stop with precision... practice makes perfect) in a few seconds.
