You can also use iTunes to create free ringtones from your songs that you own.
1. Find a song you want to make a ringtone from.
2. Play sections of the song to find an approximate start time of what you want to hear. Note the start time.
3. Right click the track, choose Get Info, click on the Options tab. Set the Start Time to what you noted.
4. Set the Stop Time to 30 seconds or less later. If you need help calculating the time, there are online time calculators: Time Calculator
5. Click OK to save the changes, play the segment to see if it is what you want to hear.
6. Adjust start and stop times to get exactly what you want. You can use decimals on the seconds to get a tiny bit more or less (ex: 0:25:12.43).
7. Once satisfied, click on the track, then choose File->Convert->Create AAC to make a track of that segment. (You see Create MP3 enabled instead of Create AAC, choose Edit->Preferences, click on Import Settings, set Import Using to AAC Encoder, and Setting to iTunes Plus, click OK, then use the File menu above)
8. Right click the new copy of the file (it will be the one with the shorter duration) and choose Show in Windows Explorer (or Show in Finder) the track should be highlighted. Rename it, changing the extension from m4a to m4r. If you don't see the file extensions see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ndows-explorer then try step 8 again.
9. Delete the short version of the song from iTunes. Select it and choose delete.
10. Drag the file with the .m4r extension from Windows Explorer or Finder and drop onto iTunes.
11. Right click on the normal version of the song, choose Get Info, click on Options, uncheck Start, uncheck Stop, click OK.
12. In iTunes, if you navigate to the Tones section you will see your new ringtone.

To cjmnews:
Yes. iTunes could create ringtones from any song on your computer for totally free. We also had a post on creating ringtones free for iPhone with iTunes and online free ringtone maker tools. The difference between iTunes and Leawo Music Recorder lies in that you could record your own voice and then make it as ringtone for iPhone, as mentioned in the post. Of course, Leawo Music Recorder could only record your voice into either MP3 or WAV audio file. You need to turn the recording to M4R ringtone files afterwards.

And there is another issue: most people said that custom iPhone ringtone should be only 30s or less. Actually, I've tested it myself and found that the max length is 40s.

Recording your own voice with Voice Memos, syncing it with iTunes can accomplish the same thing as using Leawo Music Recorder.

The song quality may have a difference in the length you can have. Just to avoid issues with high quality music, I tell people 30 seconds or less. I have created some longer ones as well.
