Unhappy Importing is really fast, than it wont show on Library or songs are 0:00 or small kb

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Ok I won a couple of iPods and I thought I had licked my share of problems in the past, but heres one that has me scratching my head.
Windows 2000 pc, enough ram, HD and processor
Installed Itunes 4.71
Everything is A OK
Ipo is an HP iPod (doesnt really matter)
Updated the iPod to newest 2005-3-23
Insert CD(store Bought, Nina SImone)...
CD is recognized
Hit Import...
It imports REALLY fast
go to library and nothing THERE
go to the Folder in which Itunes is putting files and they show up as Mpeg Layer Audio but the sizes are like 2.46 kb....anyone have any thoughts
Bueller...bueller

Did you try with another CD? Maybe the CD you just tried with doesn't allow it's contents to be imported (ie. copy protected). Importing music from cds is usually a painless process. Easiest way to find out is just try different cds.

Import

Ipodlounging...
Yes I ahve tried a diff cd, and have tried that Nina Simone on my laptop , which synchs my mini. And it works just fine.
One thing I failed to mention is that the workstation has a cd player a cdrw and a dvd reader, the same things happens on any of the drives.

Failed CDs might be copy protected, but try also some other ripper software such as CDex from download.com.

Question importing

Vilpuri Thank you for your suggestion. I did download CDEX and I am able to extract any aduio cd into an mp3 on a diff folder. Then I can add folder to Library. yet ITUNES still will not import.
