I am probably being very dense, but having typed in an artist or record name in the search box, what then? I cannot see any way of activating the search and it doesn't do it automatically when the box has text in it. I have tried Enter and select and Enter. I shall probably kick myself when someone tells me.................

When your in the main iTunes library, just type in the name of an artist that your looking for "that is in your current library" and it will appear at the top of the list.
You can click on 'browse' and then type the name of an artist that is already in your library and it will appear in the window. Search is for your current library. The artist has to be a part of your main library in iTunes. Search in the music store is to search for artist in iTMS only.

The search should be automatic as you begin to type. It searches only the songs in the selected window at the time you type it in.
You may want to click on the magnifying class in the search box and check to make sure that it is searching for what you want it to search for, you can narrow or widen the search. Good luck

Make sure all your music is properly tagged, as well. You must have those artists in your library, and your Artist, Album, or whatever field you're searching by must be filled in.

Now I see why I got no result. So the Search Box searches your own material in Library and only does a general search when in Music Store. I didn't appreciate the difference of it working differently when in different sections. Many thanks.
