iTMS Canada coming real soon now?

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Well, it's shortly after midnight on Nov 30th, and still no iTMS Canada. Apparently Apple is waiting until the eleventh hour on this one, although they're still promising they'll have it delivered by the end of the month, they're cutting it pretty close....

There was an interesting article in last week's Globe and Mail, where an Apple rep came up with a characteristically cheeky statement:

???It's still November; we'll launch in November,??? Apple's Natalie Kerris said.

Of course the statement near the bottom of the article that says that "as of Thursday they [Apple and the CMRRA] were "close to an agreement" " doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies....

So anybody up want to start a pool on whether it's actually going to come online in the next 24 hours or not?

I'm going way out on a limb here. I'm going to narrow it down to sometime between now and midnight.

I'm thinking they are not gonna hit the deadline . I'm setting myself up for a surprise then if they do actually hit it .

2 things stroke me as odd:

1 - they said more than once that it would be up by the end of november. it's almost 5 e.s.t. and still no itms canada.

2 - itms hasn't been updated today at all... which is strange for a tuesday. so far the only time they haven't updated the store on a tuesday is if there has been a monday holiday.

my guess is that they are focusing all their energy on the canadian itms and hoping for a pre-december launch.

who's taking bets for a 11:59 pst launch?

i still dont quite understand why its taking so long? what is there to negotiate? prices? what will be offered? anyone care to explain?

would they really release it sometime in the evening? if they didnt do it last night or this morning, it seems strange they'll open it at 7:30 pm Eastern for example. i hope we dont have to wait another week or something

Well, keep in mind that 7:30 EST is 4:30 PST, and while Apple Canada is in Markham, Ontario (EST), I'm pretty sure that iTMS would be run from Apple's head office in California (hence, PST).

Of course, it's currently 7:15 and I'm not seeing any action...

But then again, it's still November....

5:10PST over here in Vancouver and still no iTMS. Man...and I got my hopes up...they kept us waiting on edge for a month!

That's been a month of checking ipodlounge.com and iTunes every day. What a let down and a serious blow in my confidence with Apple.

I hope they do something to make their Canadian fans happy again...

That's right, blame it on the French.

For good heaven's sake, some people really have nothing intelligent to say.

First of all, itms France is up and running so most of your interface stuff is sitting right there and very little has to be changed for Canada. It's not creole we're talking about.

Second, do you think after promising the store for a whole month that someone said: "**mn, I forgot about the French". Oh well, let's not open for a month."

Of course, if the person in charge of translation at Apple writes like the person making this comment, translating this would take years. English is not my first language but I can tell if someone knows how to write...
