Disregarding Album names

Hey Guys,

Is there a way to disregard album names? For Example, U2 has aliek 9 albums, when I select artist I woudl love for it to just list the U2 songs rather than the nine albums. Is this doable?

Also is there a way to keep the album name only when i look up songs under albums?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Maybe with a smartplaylist, with construction of you playlist based on Artist's name ?

what if I deleted the album name from every track, woudl that solve the problem of looking stuff up by albums. There is no way to just disregard the album names in any way?

Why not just browse into the Artist you're interested in and then select the "All" entry (it's always the first one listed)? You'll then be brought to a listing of all of the songs on your iPod from that Artist. Seems easier than screwing around with the Album tags.

You will always have to go throughthe album screen. Even if you would delete the album tag it would still take you to a blank screen before taking you on to songs when you browse by artist. Also if you delete the album tags you won't be able to browse by album anymore, which is something you indicated you want to do. The iPod uses the tags across the board in it's database system.

A quick way to be taken to all songs by an artist is to make a smartplaylist of an artist. Then you can go to playlists and select the playlist and immediately see all their songs, as some one already suggested.

But really while browsing what is the big deal about pressing the button at the top to select all and go to all songs in all albums? It's one button press. You probably don't even waste a microcalorie making your thumb press a button one more time. How lazy are we?
