New - Skinnable app to control iTunes!

Hey

I made a new program for controlling iTunes. This program is completely skinnable and allows controlling many features of iTunes. Here is a display of the Default Skin:

This is running on top of my windows titlebar where it default opens.

Get the application here (this one even has documentation!!!)
http://www.ipodsoft.com/downloads/it...er/iRemote.zip

It comes with files explaining how to make skins as well.

To change skin, right click the window and select the "skins" menu and choose a skin!

Enjoy
- Prashant

PS - thanks to Breakaway1029 for the idea, thanks to his MyTunesRemote program, I got this idea.

heh.. I posted an idea of a screenshot for the gui for breakaway's program.. and it's almost identical to this! Freaken weird man!

My suggestion would be to have an option of being able to leave the track title and the rating box always visible. I like to listen to a song, get a feel for it.. then rate it about a 2 mins into the song.. but the window has gone by that time.

Also, is there a way to adjust the transparency?

Other than those two suggestions.. I think you've done a great job.

If you want ideas for future features... I'd suggest global hotkeys

haha! don't mind me! If I read the documentation... I would have seen that I could change the transparency on the skins, leave windows visible (set the timer value to zero) and adjust the sizes of boxes and move labels about.

Works a treat now.. also is longer and I removed the "Now Playing" label

*rubs hands together evilly*
EXCELLENT

This + Hoekey with itunes commands = itunes HEAVEN

lol, I was about to suggest changing the skin but glad you found it. and the whole skin idea you posted is just scary! If you want, i'll make that skin too

Enjoilax: great idea, but unfortunately I'm no good at modifying other appz What is actually different in the Mac version? If you mean just the titlebar, I'm sure I can make a cheapo skin that sits on top of iTunes

enjoy people, and glad you like it! And for the news, I am going to join with Breakaway to make it a deskbar as well. This will only be extra funtionality, not take over what it is. Also, to update you guys, i have made a new version which is not uploaded yet, but has these new features:
Show a subskin in relation to the current main skin (so if you move the skin the next one will show depending on new location)
and also allows multiple runcodes grouped by {}

any features you want, just ask

How would I be able to make the info to always stay up, instead of giving it an insane time to stay up?

EDIT: Nevermind. I deleted that event, and it worked. However, when now when I change tracks with the info up, it crashes. Any way to fix this?

Why don't you just change that insane time to 0 0 disables the timer from ever firing. and i hav no idea about the crash...

Evildude.. a suggestion that might make your application a little more user friendly is the addition of a configuration window for changing skin and display options.

I know it'd be kinda hard and a little restrictive to make a fixed form for those values.. perhaps you could build the form as a dynamic list of attributes to change?

It would then simplify the application somewhat and allow a much greater level of user control.

Also.. another suggestion.. could you include some options to launch itunes when it opens.. and to close before itunes closes?

I will work on this embeeded skin editor soon, and will get the iTunes opening etc with it. I will also get opening iTunes with program, and add an option for closing iTunes on exit

thanks for ideas

I am also adding the deskband thingy, but it's a LOT harder than I thought and I don't want to release nextversion till I get it done so probably till end of week before next version comes out

Yeah I agree. This app is hella cool
It does exactly what I want it to do now and what I've wanted to be able to do with itunes ever since I got it!

well....a little update.....I GOT START BAR THINGY WORKING

Even I'm using it
The only problem is when you use ShowSkin (to show another panel etc) it has to load iSkin which is a bit slow...I need to fix that somehow

Apart from that, I'm getting the updates done. almost done the skin editor (which is very dodgy but it works) and am about to get "start itunes with app" kinda funtionality.

Hey again people
Update is on, but it's not completely perfect.

This version has a DeskBar and everything has been (gasp) documented! This time it needs installation to get the Deskbar thing in the Start menu toolbars section

It has many other updates, so be sure to check the iSkin Changes.doc file. To access these documents, Right Click Menu---> Help Documents. This opens an explorer with the iSkin folder where all the documents are kept.

Enjoy, and get it here
http://ipodsoft.com/downloads/itunescover/iSkin.zip

PS - tell me how everything goes, and and feedback is appreciated.
