iTunes 11 Blues

I was really happy with iTunes 10 but not so with iTunes 11. From reading the blogs, a lot of others feel the same way. What I miss is when syncing my iphone5 and ipad3, iTunes would present a graphical image of my phone and ipad showing what apps My phone and ipad had, and on which screen-page. Then I could move apps around or delete them and then just sync my devices to have the apps synced up. All I see in iTunes 11 is a large display of my device apps in no particular order. I also cannot find the "sync" button. I do not find iTunes 11 intuitive like apple says. I actually find it frustrating.

All of these are very similar for me as with iTunes 10. When my devices are connected to iTunes and I select them, I get the familiar tabs across the top to view Apps, Music, etc. Clicking on the Apps tab shows all the available apps, and the pages of my device where I can organize them just as in iTunes 10. Also, the Sync button is still in the lower-right corner, next to the bar that shows the breakdown of the content on the device.

It almost sounds like you have not discovered how to select your device, as if you're just looking at the Apps in your library. Either select your device at the top-right side, or enable the "Sidebar" (View/ Show Sidebar) and select your device. This should get you back to familiar territory.

I just completely re-did my iPad 3 from scratch using these features just as rockmyplimsoul stated. After selecting my iPad in the drop down menu then the Apps tab I selected and re-organized my apps all through iTunes 11.

The only reason I Restored as new then re-built my iPad is it was still based on backups that originated from my 1G touch which was then updated through the iPhone 4's backup. My "Other" space on my iPad was hitting 5GBs that non of the regular tips would not clear up, it's now down to a more normale 2.3GBs.

Thanks rockmyplimsoul !

Thanks rockmyplimsoul !

You were right. I had not selected my device. I did not have the side bar selected. I can't believe I spent an hour fumbling around. Thanks for giving me the tips. All is good now.
