Hi
This morning I connected my iPod nano to my PC as normal. I wanted to download a few songs from iTunes, so I did that and everything was fine. Then I saw that my entire iTunes library of 438 songs had disappeared except for the 5 songs I just recently downloaded. When I went to the sync page a box appeared which said 'The iPod 'Josh's iPod is synced with another iTunes library' - it gave me two options, either 'Erase and sync' or 'Transfer purchases'. In a rush I pressed Transfer Purchases, then all of a sudden my it started to transfer songs back into my library, but only 134 out of the 438 songs on my iPod I still have 438 songs on my iPod, can someone please help me get my full library back? |

To me it sounds like you opened a new iTunes library (knowingly or not) and when you tried to sync, it prompted you with the message described.
Does your iTunes library say something like "iTunes 1" or "iTunes 2" on top of the program window? Try starting your iTunes while pressing and holding the Shift key. Next, click on "Choose Library" and locate the original folder where your iTunes library.ilt is located. Open that *.itl file and your original iTunes library should be there. |

You are welcome! Happy to have helped. In the future, should you loose track of your iTunes library and the above does not work, have a look at this thread in order to learn how to recuperate the media library from your iPod instead and transfer it to your iTunes:
