I have my library on a HD attached to my router. It is not a NAS.
Whenever I sync my iPhone 4s or my iPod Classic I hang for 5 - 10 minutes on "Determining Tracks to Sync". I am at the current version of iTunes. Once it is done determining tracks to sync, it copies the tracks over at about 1 per second. So I know the drive is not slow. Any ideas on how to speed this up? I have scoured the internet high and low and have only found my question, not my answer. |

You speed it up by having the drive connected to your computer, not the router, using the same drive letter.
If you must use the router, perhaps an upgrade to a N router would help some. Though not a lot.
