Transferring Library to new account

My wife ahres my iTunes account and want's her own account. Can I back up her library (it's not that big), delete iTunes from her computer, download and re-install iTunes on her computer, create a new account for her and upload her library into her new account.

Ok, I know Apple would never let me upload a library created in one account to another, but you can see what I am trying to do. I just can't figure out the best way to do it. Any help is appreciated.

I don't see why you would want to do all that work.

Just click on the iTunes Store, click on your user name and choose Sign Out.
Click on Login and choose create account.

Now you have all the old stuff and a new account and both sets of music will play.

Have you backed up your iTunes Library this week? If not, you are risking losing your music and playlists....

I have exactly the same issue about transferring my daughter's playlist from my account to a new one on her new MAC. The Apple store folks told me I could do as you suggested but she could not synch to her IPad and IPhone.

Mike: They should have each have prompted you to sync. Something like: this iPad is synchronized with a different library, do you want to erase it and sync with this library?

If that did not occur, maybe some troubleshooting steps are needed: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
