New iPod and having problems with syncing

I bought some new songs off Itunes about a week ago. My iPod suddenly died two days ago (have had it for nearly 5 years though!) Today I purchased the new 6th gen nano.

Most of my songs will sync however the 5 or so I bought from Itunes last week haven't. I've made sure there is enough space, updated my iTunes etc and still nothing. I'm using the same laptop from where I purchased them and I can't find a solution for this problem.

I bought some other songs about a month ago and they're fine and have synced no problems.

Any advice?

Can you play them in iTunes?
Maybe they are damaged or not authorized for this computer (though not likely not authorized).

It may prompt you for a password for the songs, enter it and they should play and sync.
