Problems with multi album albums

I finally gave in and bought a nano. The video camera is intriguing and I love the new larger screen form factor (though the click wheel still hates my fingers :-) hehe

anyway this problem seems rampant on many devices (zune ipod sansa etc..)

I have 108 songs as part of my "favorites" its all my "favorite" music that I put into my own custom "album"

SO how do I make it an ALBUM. I change the ALBUM and ALBUM ARTISTS to all be the same thing (for some stupid reason you have to do BOTH or it will still seperate them into multiple albums)

Ok great now its on the ipod as one big 108 song album. Perfect except now my album art does not work. off course its 108 songs from 108 albums with 108 different embedded album art images.

the moment I make it one big album it IGNORES ALL ALBUM art except the art of the "first" song in the album. it makes all the songs use THAT IMAGE.

How do I fix this?

No I can not use playlists first that screen does not show images in the list which is ugly and second it renders my ALBUM view unusable since it now contains 108 single song albums.

any suggestions? I just got one idea. I could make it one album but NOT PLAY it as an album ie PLAY it as a playlist. I will see if that displays "all" the individual song album covers instead of using the first song cover.

would love any advice as to a solution to this.
