Is there some way to read the contents of the library database (Windows)?
iTunes says it can't find most of the music in my music library, which is stored on an external disc. The iTunes library location is set to the external disc, but I'm wondering if my computer is assigning a different drive letter now than when the library database was constructed; I'd like to "read" the database to check. In the meantime, iTunes keeps "updating" the library when I open it. It moves the old library database to a previous iTunes library folder and creates a new updated database that is much smaller than the old databases and too small to catalog most of the music in my library. Help appreciated!! |

You should be able to look at your iTunes Library.xml file and read the Location sections for the songs to see the drive letter it expects the files to appear on.
