I have a problem where my PC (with a new OS WinXP image) with iTunes 9.02, will sync with my iPhone but not with my 32gb iTouch - it just doesn't recognize my iTouch at all.
What I have done: 1. 5 Rs (per Apple's kb) 2. Another Apple kb got me to clean out temp directories, etc. In all, nothing has changed. WinXP sees the iPod Touch but iTunes remains blind. I have also stopped and restarted the mobile helper with no effect. I am stumped as to what to try next and would appreciate any thoughts - the only thing I haven't done is mess with PC services to see if there is a conflict as my logic has been if there was any conflict it would also prevent my iPhone 3GS from syncing too. Happy to be challenged on this approach. Any help appreciated. Justin |

thanks for the article - I hadn't read this one. I did check and I could see that with the iPhone, the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" did install in the device manager. On the other hand, with the iTouch nothing happened.
The only issue with this article is its only remedy is to uninstall and reinstall iTunes - something I have already done without any improvement or change. What should I do now? |

Solved!!!!!
I followed: http://discussions.apple.com/thread....02615&tstart=0 Basically Apple iTunes can install the drivers in a place not expected so the PC thinks the iPod is a camera and not an iPod. As the person in the post I have referenced said, it is stunning that Apple has not posted this solution. All Apple go on about is uninstalling and reinstalling - generally completely useless.
