Can I get Playlists from iPod?

I got a new computer and have downloaded iTunes. I've Added my music from my external drive, but my Playlists and Counts weren't in the Music file on my external drive.
I attached my iPod and Cancelled the Sync-up so that I could look for files on the iPod and copied over the following that looked like the might be useful:
iTunesControl
iTunesDB
iTunesPlaylists
iTunesPrefs
Preferences
SysInfo
winPrefs
IC-Info.sidb
iEKInfo

Does anyone know if I could put any of these files into my iTunes folder on my new Vista system and would that bring the playlists and everything over? Then I could sync with my new computer and everything should be the same as the old. Thank you!

The best solution is to replace the "iTunes" folder on the new machine with the "iTunes" folder from the old machine -- only takes a couple of minutes, and everything will be as it was.

None of the files on the iPod will do you any good, without software assistance. Check out this excellent iLouunge article on copying content from iPod to computer for info on recovering playlists from the iPod.

Thanks so much for replying. I actually performed your first suggestion last evening after putting the old drive in an enclosure and attaching it as a USB drive. I just went through and copied the individual files from within the iTunes folder into the iTunes folder on the new system, but it seems to have worked.

Thanks again!
