Slow Ripping (to mp3)

iTunes takes forever to rip my cd's to mp3@192. It rips @ 10x. Is there anything I can do to increase speed? It takes #### near 30 seconds to rip a 4 minute song. In Musicmatch and Windows Media it was a lot faster.

Those speeds seem about right. I rip to 192 AAC at about 13x or so.

Your only true option is to rip using another (faster) program, and manually import to iTunes, or get a bag of popcorn and enjoy some music while you wait

I agree with the above reply - iTunes is just a little slower ripper than other programs.

Check your iTunes Preferences, Import tab. Clear the error correction box if checked, but at 10X I bet you don't have EC turned on.
