Music won't play within iTunes

I double click a song/press play in the upper left hand corner and the music won't play

The speakers work fine but the song just stays stuck at 0.00 (time) and i've tried w/ numerous different songs and to no avail.

I also reinstalled itunes once

Does anyone have any idea as to why the songs won't play?

It's probably a Quicktime issue.

Uninstall both Quicktime and iTunes, clean up the installers and temp files and reinstall iTunes again.

ahhh i've tried everything

now i've realized that the previews in itunes won't even play

i've tried windows media player and winamp and they won't play the music either....help!!

Then it is most likely a soundcard issue.

Check Start->Settings->Control Panel->System, Hardware tab, Device Manager.
See if you have any red or yellow markers, particularly in "Sound Video and Game Controllers" section. If you do click on it and follow the suggestions.

You may need to reinstall your drivers.

Get the original CD or download the updated drivers from the manufacturer and install them.

If you still have the problem find a geek friend or take it in to the Geek Squad.
