Exclamation Deauthorize Audible Account not working! Need help!

I am trying to deauthorize my computer because I am getting a new one in a couple days, and will not be using my current one any longer after I get my new one.

Here is the problem:
When I type in my account username and password, an error message displays and says "Could not deauthorize this computer because either your user name or password are invalid."

I am typing in the username in that I use for my Apple ID, along with its password. Is this the wrong username I am typing in? What username am I supposed to use?

Please help...

Your Apple ID is the username@your email address.com + password. Did you use your username only or username and email address?

Well are you deauthorizing itunes or Audible? If audible, use your audible username and password

I'm going to Advanced>Deauthorize Audible Account in iTunes. So I'm guessing that's the Audible one...the problem is I don't even know what my Audible username and password is, do I even have one? When I first installed iTunes, would it have asked me to make an audible username and password?

I don't even know what my audible username and password is...

I also didn't understand what honeybee was saying.

i guess the question is podliver, if you have an audible audio books. If you don't forget this deauthorization, probably what you are looking for is the simple "deauthorize computer" to deauthorize your computer for iTunes stores tracks.

You'll find this option under the store menu (to the left of the advanced menu)

If you do have audible, the username is likely whatever email address you signed up with, you can get your username and password sent to you at audible.com, but my guess is you are actually looking for "deauthorize computer" for the iTunes store. Off to the store menu up to you go!

Cheers.

Individual iPods do not have to be authorized as long as the computer is authorized.

Are you getting any errors? Are you dealing with iTunes store purchases or an audible account?

Add my cheers to mix. I've been struggling with the same problem Podliver had with deauthorization. Your explanation saved a lot of frustration - I'd been getting nowhere with the deauthorization of audible account. This is such a great place for answers.

Thank you

I had the same problem, and without this forum would have been lost - Apple listne maybe it is the menu system or atleast have the error message indicate that there is two places you can deauthorize

Thanks again

Many thanks for the explanation. The audible account is just confusing to the average iTunes user who didn't even know they existed.
