When my neice first got her ipod video she setup and downloaded some songs with one apple id. Then for some reason she used a different apples ID to purchase and download the rest of the songs.

Is there a way to merge them?

Does it make a difference? I know in the start she had trouble with the songs going missing but that has hadn't happened in a while.

Thanks

It doesn't make a big difference, but if you contact the iTunes Store they might be able to merge the accounts for you. They haven't been able to do this in the past if purchases were made with both accounts, but I don't know if this has changed recently.

You can have both accounts activated on your computer, however, so it doesn't really matter, other than the need to authorize and deauthorize both accounts separately if you ever need to do so (ie, when reinstalling your computer, or setting up iTunes on a new computer).
