i have a 4th Gen 20G ipod...i need to restore it because itunes isnt recognizing it...
only itunes 7 doesnt have a restore option when the ipod doesnt connect.... i remember there was a way to restore the ipod by clicking a certain pattern on the ipod.... anyone know what it is? |

Restore? Not that I know of. You can reset by holding down the MENU and Center buttons together for about 10-15 seconds...

Reset, when the apple logo appears hit left + center...that takes you to the diagnostics menu. Play around in there, I think there's an option to do it. My 4th gen died a few weeks ago so I can't check how to myself as the 5th gen's menu is very different.
